Hot Tuna

Corked Bats

Week three of the Thursday softball league is shaping up to be a good one, as teams look to make adjustments on their first few performances and capitalize on key opportunities, striving to pick up yet another win.

Coming off of a disappointing first round playoff loss last season, Hot Tuna started spring training early and is up for the Most Improved Team Award. The team was firing on all cylinders in week one as they were all over Smack my Pitch Up, tallying up 26 runs. In week three, they will look to show everyone that they are a force to be reckoned with, despite their pink uniforms. The team will play another undefeated club in Third Base on the First Date in an effort to pick up their second win of the season.

An insider has revealed that several girls from Hot Tuna may be involved in a performance enhancing drug scandal. Witnesses saw them consuming a liquid substance out of a red plastic cup in between innings, which aided them in getting more hits than the guys. It seemed to also improve their motor skills and hand/eye coordination. Some of the guys were seen doing the same thing, yet it did not have the same benefit.

Big Kidz, who despite their name, play in the little kid division, look to bounce back from an embarrassing 22-2 loss in their first game. Perhaps the creation of a teaball division will help their case. They will face off against Sore Losers on Thursday, who narrowly lost their opener 7-6.

Show Me Your Hits showed us their hits in week one, as they clobbered Pitches and Hoes 21-5. Look for a much closer match this week when they play Sons of Pitches, fresh off a 7-0 shutout.

As always, join us at Docs after the excitement for $2 Miller Lite and MGD 64!!
