Ultimate Champions--Plastic Exchange

What a great ultimate Frisbee season it was for all of the Austin SSC participants! As the season ended last Tuesday, one could see a great improvement from each team and player from the first pull of the season to the last. Every team gave it their all during the playoffs and truly showed their talents which is what this sport is all about. Not only was the performance on the field fun to watch but the camaraderie and friendships built through the league were a joy to witness as well as each team cheered each other on.

During the first round of the playoffs, Plastic Exchange and Drunk and Disk-Oriented beat their opponents (Ultimate Warriors and Discs of Tron, respectively) to face each other in the championship game. Plastic Exchange, with plenty of rest, man-handled Drunk and Disk-Oriented 11-4 to finish their undefeated season and claim another SSC championship. With great catches and defense from all of their players, they truly exemplified what teamwork is all about. They won each game of the season by a comfortable margin and were never really tested. A truly deserving champ!

A big thanks goes out to all of the participants for a great season. It was fun to watch as there were highlight reel plays every night and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves on the field. Congratulations to all the teams on a successful season and we hope to see you out there for the next season of ultimate Frisbee!
