The weather is cooling off for 4’s basketball is just heating up!

With next week’s playoffs on the horizon, all teams buckled down in preparation for the upcoming showdowns in Championship week! Let’s see how this week’s teams made their statements!

Woooo-Weeee……were this week’s games close! No pushover games here with every team eyeing the prize headed into the playoffs. Here’s how it all went down at SARC on Tuesday night:

Even playing with one player short, Basket Hounds gave Cow Heads all they could handle early on. They took a commanding lead early and looked like they were going to pull an upset. Cow Heads hustled and scraped their way back in and snuck out a 17-16 win on the fading legs of the Basket Hounds. Great game!

The Basket Hounds turned right around and faced Monstars in yet another nail biter. This game was close throughout with each side matching basket for basket when it counted. In the end, Basket Hounds began to tire without any bench for subs and fell 29-30 to the mighty Monstarts! Another awesome game!

In another close one, Monstars took on Red Headed Steph Child. Red Headed Steph Child took an early lead with some 3s, but Monstars held on with some 3s of their own. The game came down to the wire and Monstars took the lead and held on to win by 2, 21-19. Another squeaker!!

It was good news….bad news for Winning Temperament on this night. First the good news……they easily defeated the winded Cow Heads 22-12 in their early game. Lots of great defensive schemes and timely baskets made it an easy win. With spirits running high, their second game against Red Headed Steph Child seemed like a cake walk. At this point, everybody is tired and rebounds are easy for the defenses. Both teams had trouble finding the basket with a 12 all tie going into the last minute of the game. Neither team could break the tie and took the 12-12 score as a disappointment for all their efforts. Nobody likes a tie after all that!

What tonight did was set the tone for some exciting playoff action next week.  After the last whistle blew, everyone headed to Gourdough’s to exchange challenges for next week and laugh at some of the regular season’s lowlights! Stay tuned for an awesome showdown of awesome 4s basketball talent when we do it all again!
