General Rules:

To sign up and play you must have a discord page and join our discord. Discord helps make communication easy. The schedule will be posted on the server at the start of the week and you will also report your scores there. Registration will end a day before the league starts or when there are no more spots available. When registering your team please use your gamer tag or handle as your team name. You must own Madden 20 and an Xbox One or PS4 to compete in the league.

Format Rules:

This league will last 5 weeks. There will be 4 weeks of regular season play and an end of season tournament on the 5th week. Each week you will play two opponents for a total of 8 regular season games. The winner is responsible for reporting the score to the Discord server after the game is over.

On week 5 there will be an end of season tournament. The tournament will be an 8 team single elimination tournament. You will not have a week to play your games during the end of the season tournament. The end of the season tournament will be completed in one night. Seeding will be based on results from the season. See the tiebreaker section for clarification on seeding at the end of the regular season. If you did not make the tournament you will still be scheduled to play a friendly game. The higher seeded team will be the home team. The higher seed is responsible for setting up the match lobby according to the guidelines below. Games should be played at some point during the week that works for both players. Each user should get in touch with their opponent on discord before the start of their game to coordinate and make sure they are both on the same page.

Games played via Madden Head to Head (H2H) mode

  • Quarter length: 5 minutes
  • Play clock: 40 Seconds
  • Skill Level: All-Madden
  • Accelerated Clock: Off
  • Injuries: On
  • Even Teams: Off
  • Fatigue: On

*Note:

  • Any setting not listed above should not be changed from the game’s default setting option.
  • The winning team is responsible for submitting the score for games on Discord.
  • If a participant forfeits a match, the game will be reported and the score will be recorded as 21-0 for the game.

Picking Teams:

Each player will be allowed to play with any normal, up-to-date roster team they would like. You can use the same team or different teams every game, this is up to the players preference. There can be duplicate teams playing against each other (ex. Philadelphia Eagles vs. Philadelphia Eagles). If two players are using the same team then the away team must pick a jersey color that is easily distinguishable from the home team’s jersey selection. No fantasy teams, all time teams, or ultimate teams allowed. Must use most up-to-date rosters of teams only.

Tie Breaker:

In the event of a tie at the end of regulation the game will be played with regular overtime rules. The first team to receive the ball will have a chance to score. If they score a touchdown the game is over, if they score a field goal the other team will have a possession to attempt to score. If the other team does not score they lose. If they score a touchdown they win and if they score a field goal then the first team will get the ball back. This will continue until a winner is determined.
At the end of the regular season the top 8 teams will play in a single elimination tournament. To determine seeding the following rules will be used in the order listed.

  1. Total wins (i.e. a player who is 7-1 will be seeded higher than a player that is 6-2)
  2. Head to head match up (i.e. if two players are 6-2 at the end of the season, the player who won the game between the two players will be seeded higher)
  3. Point differential (i.e. total points scored minus total points allowed)
  4. Points scored (i.e.total points scored throughout the whole season)

Disconnection/Forfeit rules:

In the event of a disconnection or a forfeit and a league official is there to observe, then league officials will determine if the game state can be restored to a similar point. We highly recommend recording video and/or taking a screenshot of any game disconnection evidence in case of a dispute.

If a game is disconnected, and a league official IS NOT there to observe, then the competitors will use their judgment on how to restart the game. If the two competitors cannot agree, then the competitors must finish the remaining time of the match, keeping the score the same as it was in the game that got disconnected.

  • Example: If the disconnection occurred at the end of the 1st quarter, the new game should be played until the end of the 3rd quarter.
  • Example: A player disconnects at the 0:20 mark of the 3rd quarter with possession of the ball on the 50-yard line. The score of the game was 20-14. The game is to restart in the 1st quarter with the implied score to be 20-14 and the implied quarter to be the 3rd. The competitors will play until halftime to determine the winner

The following scoring parameters will determine a winner, in the event of a disconnect, if the competitors cannot agree on a solution.

  • A Competitor has a 32 or greater point lead at any point in the first half.
  • A Competitor has a 25 or greater point lead AND the disadvantaged Competitor has had at least one opportunity to possess the ball in the second half
  • A competitor has an 18 or greater point lead by the 2-minute warning of the second half.

The following scoring parameters will determine a winner, in the event of a disconnect, if the competitors cannot agree on a solution.

  • A Competitor has a 7 or greater point lead at any point in the first half.
  • A Competitor has a 5 or greater point lead at the 75-minute

If teams are unable to connect due to technical difficulties – i.e. the game continues to time out when attempting to create a match after several attempts, it should be recorded as a 0-0 draw. Some systems simply don’t play nice with others. Just sit tight and wait for your next match.
